Scottdale Porchfest
Terms and Acknowledgments
These terms apply generally to people using Scottdale Porchfest services, including applicants, performers, hosts, volunteers, and other participants.
Participation and Responsibility
- Participation in Scottdale Porchfest is voluntary. Submitting an application or signing in does not guarantee acceptance, scheduling, matching, or any specific event placement.
- Performers are responsible for their own instruments, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, stands, cables, transportation, and other equipment unless a separate arrangement is made directly with a host or organizer.
- Hosts are responsible for their own property conditions, space setup decisions, access conditions, and any permissions needed for the use of their property.
- All participants are responsible for using reasonable judgment about safety, access, electrical needs, weather, timing, and any other conditions relevant to their involvement.
Private Property and Event Conditions
- Many performances take place on private property offered by volunteer hosts. Site conditions, power access, parking, audience conditions, weather exposure, and setup limitations may vary.
- Hosts who provide power are responsible for providing a reasonably safe way to route extension cords or otherwise supply power to the performance area.
- Hosts must provide assigned performers reasonable access to a restroom during scheduled performance time if needed. This requirement applies to performers only, not the general public.
- Performers are responsible for determining whether their equipment, volume, setup, and power needs are appropriate for a specific site.
Organizer Role and Liability
Scottdale Porchfest is a volunteer-run community project. Its purpose is to introduce willing performers to willing hosts and to promote the event to the public. That is where the role of Scottdale Porchfest ends.
Scottdale Porchfest, its organizers, and its volunteers are not a venue, promoter, employer, contractor, or event producer. We do not own, lease, operate, manage, inspect, maintain, supervise, or control any private property, electrical system, equipment, setup, stage, audience area, traffic pattern, or parking arrangement associated with any performance.
We do not screen, credential, certify, or supervise performers, hosts, or attendees. Any arrangement between participants, including decisions about site readiness, power supply, equipment setup, safety precautions, permits, insurance, or access, is between those parties directly. Scottdale Porchfest is not a party to those arrangements and assumes no responsibility for them.
By using this site or participating in Scottdale Porchfest, you acknowledge that your participation is voluntary, that you are acting on your own judgment, and that Scottdale Porchfest, its organizers, and its volunteers bear no responsibility for claims, injuries, property damage, losses, or disputes arising from participation, including but not limited to property conditions, electrical access, extension-cord routing, weather, audience or attendee conduct, parking, site access, equipment use, travel, or private agreements between participants. This limitation applies except where prohibited by applicable law.
